Getting here
The Achensee region is easily accessible by car, train, or plane. You can travel by train to Jenbach and from there, the public (barrier-free) buses run at regular intervals, transporting you comfortably to Lake Achensee. Take advantage of our free buses by showing your reservation confirmation from your accommodation provider. The nearest airports are Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Munich.
Ride up the mountain in a gondola
Summiteers can journey up the mountainside in the gondola cabins of the barrier-free cable cars and soak in gorgeous views of Lake Achensee.
Visit our Achensee information offices to get information about things to do, places to stay and more. All information offices are barrier-free and have the following facilities:

- Hearing induction loops
Outside the regular opening hours of the tourist offices, our digital kiosks (interactive displays) provide information on everything from accommodation vacancies and weather to events and activities around the clock. Visit our interactive map to find barrier-free digital kiosks.
Hearing induction loops in our service areas cut out unwanted background noise, creating an inclusive environment for visitors affected by forms of hearing impairment. The assistive listening technology systems provide the accessibility that people with hearing aids need to engage and communicate freely with our staff. NOTE: Hearing induction loops are available in all information offices.

- Rental of disability equipment (wheelchairs, commode chairs, two-wheeled walkers, rollator walkers, crutches, etc.).
- The delivery of disability equipment is free of charge in the Achensee region. We recommend booking the equipment 14 days prior to your arrival. The equipment will be delivered directly to your accommodation.
