The Eng is the valley end of the Rißbach Valley in the Nature Park Karwendel. Just before the end of the Rißbachtal and the alpine village of Eng lies the famous Ahornboden with over 2,000 maple trees that grow up to 600 years old. Take the Eng bus to get to this attraction in an environmentally friendly and convenient way.

Attention: The excursion bus offers visitors a convenient and eco-friendly way to the Nature Park Karwendel only several months per year.

The "realm of the giant" in Wattens is a 30-minute drive from Maurach. The Swarovski Crystal Worlds boast 17 chambers of wonder that host precious items and works of art, and a fascinating garden. The play tower and playground keep children of all ages entertained.

Between Jenbach and Schwaz the Tratzberg Castle towers majestically above the Inntal valley, inviting visitors to explore what lies behind its historic walls. The rooms which are open to the public - among them the hunting hall, the armoury and the queen's parlour - feature original furniture typical of the Gothic and Renaissance period. Audio guides tell the secrets and the history of the castle from the view of its previous owners. The experience can be rounded off with a spectacular 360° virtual reality journey. 

The “mother of all mines” guarantees an exciting journey into the history of Europe. The mine railway takes visitors 800 metres underground and on a journey through time. Visitors to the Silver Mine Schwaz learn all about silver mining and the miners’ working life in the silver mine 500 years ago. In addition, the tour gives a deeper insight into the social and financial development of Europe.

The Hall Mint in Hall in Tirol is the birthplace of the taler and the dollar. In the medieval Hasegg Castle, the modern, excellent museum displays unique machines and coins. The Mint Tower, the town's landmark, offers a breathtaking view over the medieval town of Hall and the impressive Karwendel massif, and you can see all the way to Innsbruck. There is also a special programme for children.

The first Wood Museum of Tirol gives visitors a detailed insight into the country’s history. A rustic wooden building lets visitors trace the region's tradition and the art of woodcarving back to the 17th century. The museum displays 3,000 exhibits related to the natural material wood on the two floors of the museum and outside the building.

Go behind the scenes of a paper factory and learn how raw material is turned into the famous Gmund paper. The Gmund paper shop factory tours show how greeting cards are made, how the colour gets into the paper, and how the fabulous golden sheen of the Oscar envelopes is created.

The FireWorks – WoodAdventureWorld in Fügen is one of the most modern and economical biomass cogeneration plants in Europe. Visitors can join guided tours through the plant, and there is also a range of events available such as concerts and readings. Audio guides give interesting insights into the topics pellet production and green electricity, district heating, the history of wood, and climate change. 
 

Join an exciting multi-media behind-the-scenes tour in Tirol’s oldest independent brewery set on an area of over 5,000 m². Learn all about the ingredients and the processes of brewing and bottling. Immerse yourself in the sights and traditions of a working brewery and enjoy a multi-sensory journey that finishes with the highlight: a tasting of some of the brewery’s finest beers.
