Self-guided themed family walk!

Alpine animals circular walk

Looking to combine a family walk with learning about wildlife in alpine habitats? The alpine animals circular walk encourages families with children to connect with our natural environment and gives them some exercise, too. Situated within easy reach of the top station of the Karwendel cable car in Pertisau, the self-guided walk is a popular family excursion.

On the alpine animals circular walk on top of the Zwölferkopf, the children meet typical mountain dwellers such as hares and chamois. And if you are very quiet and look closely, you might even spot some roe deer. There are several experience stations along the trail where children learn interesting facts about the region's wildlife in a playful way. In addition, an entertaining dwarf story will accompany the children during the entire tour. The circular walk takes ca. 1.5 hours and is an easy stroll for all family members.

On top of the Zwölferkopf, a sweeping panoramic view unfolds like a picture postcard. Soak in stunning vistas of the deep blue Lake Achensee surrounded by the Karwendel and Rofan mountains.
