Children's programme Achensee
Fun, games and outdoor adventures – in summer, the Achensee region becomes a giant adventure playground in a stunning natural scenery. From 3 July to 1 September 2023, from Monday to Friday, the region offers a versatile children’s programme, and on certain days there are also activities for the whole family to enjoy.

A very special experience awaits you today at the Adler bakery in Achenkirch ... This is a dream come true for Kasimir Kräutermandl. Master baker Alexander shows us his bakery and together we bake fresh bread rolls for our delicious picnic in the small village of Steinberg. Fortified by our baked goods, we head off to Maria and Josef at the Mesnerhof. A range of activities awaits us at the farm, from harvesting hay and feeding the animals to exploring the barn. Max. number of participants: 30 children!

Lights at night! When darkness has fallen at Lake Achensee, we grab our self-made lanterns and set out on the night walk with you and your parents. Of course, Wusel the water spirit will join us. A fabulous experience for the whole family.

A storm has whirled Seppi, Fichtenliesl‘s friend, through the forest. He lands in the shrubs and shouts: “Yay, that‘s great”. Who wants to have an adventure with Seppi before we take him back to Fichtenliesl? Join Seppi and you will be rewarded with a mountaineer’s snack.

Let Paul Gaul take you into the exciting world of horses. Spend a funfilled day in the Achensee region where many adventures await: pony riding, grilling sausages and bread on the stick, lots of games and a dip in the lake when the weather is good. You’ll make many new friends and you can exchange handmade friendship bracelets right away.

Location: Heimatmuseum Achental – Sixenhof, Achenkirch
Join Wusel the water spirit on a journey to the Sixenhof. An amazing, fun-filled experience awaits where you discover the stories and legends behind the old farmhouse. Immerse yourself in Wusel’s enchanted world and help him solve the mystery. An exciting evening for the whole family!

Hen Hanna wants to spend the summer on the mountain pasture together with her best friends Cow Karoline and Sheep Olli. This is not so easy because the farmer won’t allow her. But Hen Hanna doesn’t give up and finds a way … Follow Hen Hanna to the pasture and you will be rewarded with a delicious lunch and a beautiful mountain panorama. Enjoy an action-packed day with your family.

It’s summer at Lake Achensee, and Lukas and Anna are playing by the stream. Suddenly they hear a voice. Who is that? “It’s me, Stoffl, the flatworm”. “Who are you? Where do you come from?” the children ask and become friendly with the little brown-grey flatworm. The adventure can begin. What role does the “gnarled wolf” play? Be ready for a surprise! Important: Don‘t forget your swimwear so that you can splash around. Max. number of participants: 30 children.

Good to know
- Ages: All children between 4 and 10 years old staying in the Achensee holiday region are invited to come along and take part. Youngsters aged 10 years and over can participate in our youth programme.
- Cost: The children’s programme is free! We only charge a contribution of EUR 8 for food per child! On the family day on Thursday parents pay EUR 10 per person for lunch, drinks are not included
- Registration & group size: Registration is only required for the family pasture day on Thursdays and the evening event on Wednesdays. For all other events, please feel free to register online at the Achensee experience shop. Group size: min. 3 children.
- Packing list: You need sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Please bring a small rucksack which you can carry yourself and swimwear. You also need to bring your AchenseeCard (visitor card) for the free bus rides.
- If the planned activities need to be cancelled because of bad weather, there will be alternative options to spend the day. Just be ready for surprises!
- Meeting points & pick-up times: Our childcarers will greet you at the meeting points (see desired program day). We will take the public bus to our respective starting points. Please arrive on time, otherwise we cannot guarantee participation in the children‘s programme, as the buses must keep to the timetables. Remember to bring your valid AchenseeCard (visitor card) for using the public buses, otherwise you have to buy a ticket!
Our children’s programme is so much fun that you can’t get enough? We have great news: If you take part in our children’s programme 3 times during your holidays at the Tirolean Sea, you will receive a pair of cute Wusel socks as a souvenir to take home (also the family activities count).
